Soapstone has been used in India for centuries as a medium for carving and making cooking utensils as it is surplus in minerals and offers various health benefits. It is the quarried natural stone which is softer than most other naturally occurring stone. Although it is soft, soapstone is a very dense and a non-porous stone; denser than marble, slate, limestone and even granite. Because soapstone is impenetrable, it will not stain, as the liquid will not permeate the surface.
